“Some dining experiences never forget”

Successfully established in 1969, The Stables Restaurant has been family run by the Hagens for over forty years.
While new management are now overseeing the restaurant, rest assured that the service, quality and delicious menu remain unchanged. If you are looking for a local restaurant enjoyed by the community, then this is certainly the place for you.
Mouth-watering meals are offered as well as a variety of coffees and desserts. The restaurant is fully licensed.
All staff are local and find genuine joy in catering for the needs of our guests. Our favourite comment from guests is that “we were definitely worth finding”.

We love food

We take great pride in making it well and great excitement in seeing our customers enjoy what we serve. we make everything on-site, our wholesome recipes are designed to please. John and his kitchen team carefully prepare each seasonal menu, working with local suppliers to maximise the quality of the food served. It is a relatively small menu, that is the nature of being a proper kitchen, but we have chosen our dishes carefully to suit the majority of palates and tolerances. Our includes gluten-free and vegan options.

Our Aim

Our aim is to provide visitors and locals alike, with great, reasonably priced food that adds joy to whatever part of the day they may visit. We want our food to celebrate great adventures had in Balloch and we care deeply about being a place that can accommodate those who share our passion for the Loch Lomond.

We are proud of what we do, and proud that our customers are excited to grow with us, sharing the excitement that iteration and improvement has brought. We recognise, and thrive, on the necessity to continually keep moving forward and hopefully you can visit, become part of this journey.

Allergy-friendly

Visited The Stables Ballock and had a brilliant experience! I am allergic to nuts and a vegan so eating out can be difficult and I often feel like I’m a hinderance to the staff. However, our server Jan was brilliant she guided us on what we could have, patiently going through all the allergens of everything to make sure everything was fine! All of the staff in the restaurant were super friendly and the food was yum too! A great experience that made eating out easy!

Still the best place locally

I had a lovely night at the Stables the other night. I was interested to see how it was going with the new owners and I have to say they were very welcoming and friendly. The place was busy as usual and there was a lovely atmosphere. The food was as tasty and plentiful as always and everyone was tucking into their meals. I wish the new owners all the best in their new venture.

Good service & support

Enjoyed our meal at stables…Fish was moist and delicious! I have a daughter with Autism and she gets frustrated in too busy places. Because of the school holiday, the place was really busy. I asked one of the staff to be seated in a quiet area if possible and explained the situation to staff, We had a smooth lunchtime and felt happy that we were understood and treated well by the team. Thank you for great service and supporting/ understanding people who have Special needs.

Gorgeous food and friendly staff

We visited here after reading reviews and we weren’t disappointed. Friendly greeting as we arrived and great customer service throughout. The relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Delicious food we started with the Scottish sharing platter followed by mussels and chips. Unfortunately, we couldn’t fit dessert in. Definitely recommend.
